gs-5.10 ( from ftp://ftp.cs.wisc.edu/pub/ghost/aladdin ) This verison of ghostscript is under an Alladin Software license, and not the Gnu license terms. It is installed as "gs", so it will be what you get if you directly run "gs" "ghostview" or "gv", but an older GNU version still exists as gs262. The ftp site also has a Windows PostScript previewer called ``gsview'' in the directory /pub/ghost/rjl. ghostview-1.5 The X11 postscript previewer. This will expect to find gs-2.6.2 or better. Still a little buggy. You might try the new viewer, gv, instead... In fact, just typing "ghostview" now gets you "gv". To really run ghostview, you have to type the command "ghostview-1.5". gv-3.5.8 (Also came with a man page) (NOTE: Not available on old Suns) This program has been configured to expect ghostscript-5.10 or better. It is based on the same code as ghostview-1.5, but has a little nice look-and-feel, and gv can also read pdf files properly. If you have a pdf file, however, acroread may be a nicer tool because you cannot search pdf of PostScript in gv. I (Sidik) would be interested to hear comments/problems about this new viewer. acroread-3.01 Adobe Acrobat Reader with search from www.adobe.com (views .pdf files.) This program has its own built-in help. enscript-1.5.0 GNU's version of enscript claims to be able to do anything that a2ps or nenscript can do, also everything that Adobe enscript does except for PDF. Use this to typeset ascii (code listings for example) in 2-column formats and such. teTeX-0.2 The major components of the LaTeX system are LaTeX itself and the Dvips driver. Other components have info pages as well and can be found at the end of the info index. latex2html-99.1 This program converts your LaTeX document into HTML and usually places the output in a subdirectory by the same name as your document. (Old versions `latex2html96' and `latex2html97' are also still available.) cc2ps (lgrind) `cc2ps' is a wrapper script I wrote for converting C and C++ source code into PostScript using the pretty-printer utility `lgrind'. To run it, type `cc2ps foo.c' and it will generate foo.c.ps. See also: ispell under Unix Utilities
