15.2 '@*' and '@/': Generate and Allow Line Breaks

The '@*' command forces a line break in all output formats.  The '@/'
command allows a line break (printed manual only).

  Here is an example with '@*':

     This sentence is broken @*into two lines.

produces

     This sentence is broken
     into two lines.

  The '@/' command can often be useful within urls (Note: @url), which
tend to be long and are otherwise unbreakable.  For example:

     The official Texinfo home page is on the GNU web site:
     @uref{http://www.gnu.org/@/software/@/gnu/@/texinfo}.

produces

     The official Texinfo home page is on the GNU web site:
     <http://www.gnu.org/software/gnu/texinfo>.

Without the '@/' commands, TeX would have nowhere to break the url.
'@/' has no effect in other output formats.
